So, for those of you who are relatively new to the 'ol blog, let me refresh your memory. I thought about getting bangs for a long time before the wedding. But considering I wasn't willing to take any major hair risks at any point before our big day, I waited until after our wedding. I did it. I loved them. For two days.
You see, they were in my eyes. Like, I couldn't really open my eyes and they would constantly water and I would feel really dumb winking at people I didn't know all that well through entire conversations. So I got fed up and quickly grew them out. Now, I have a hair appointment next Friday and I'm sort of thinking I didn't give them enough of a chance, and I'm sort of itching to get them again.
Please, please help me. Should I give bangs another try? Or keep my hair as it is? I need your help!
Thinking to do them a tad thicker and a tad shorter this time. I love these bangs:

They looked great on you, maybe if you got them shorter you wouldn't have the eye problem...at least until they started growing out.
ReplyDeleteI looooove the bangs! I say do it !
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs...looks great!! :)
ReplyDeletei think they look good on your! I wish I could do it- but I'm not that brave!
ReplyDeleteGofor 'em girl! I thought you were so cute with them last time. Maybe a little shorter to avoid the inadvertent wink...
ReplyDeletei realllly love the bangs on you! i just got bangs about a month ago (i had to cheat on my sylist who wouldnt cut them for me) but i am SO glad i got them. i really love how they look... but i agree with the winking thing. haha it has taken a bit to get used to (they also like to part on their own, not cool). just be prepared to keep up with trims. xoxo jcd
ReplyDeleteI really loved when you got them before (and I wondered where they went!) but I totally understand that the upkeep is a pain. I say go for it, unless you're like me and you get lazy about doing your hair in the summer :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys!! I think I'm going to do it! My stylist is only a couple blocks from our apartment, so I'm going to try to be proactive and schedule regular bang trims, and hopefully that will help with them being too long in my eyes :) YAY! I'm excited! Will post photos next week when I get them!
ReplyDeletebangs would look amazing on you! You should definitely do them shorter and a big thicker though! They should never be uncomfortable :). But I really think they suit your face and they add soooo much to up-dos...
ReplyDelete♥cheche
Ahh you will look so cute!
ReplyDeletei'm a huge supporter of bangs.
ReplyDeletea bangs-believer, if you will.
therefore, i vote: yesssssssss.
I love the bangs on you, Liz!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! You can always grow them back out after giving them a second chance!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteDo it! They look SO good on you! I wish I could do bangs, but I have a silly cowlick in the middle of them (I found that out AFTER I cut them once before). You look adorable with them, and I love the inspiration pic you posted. Do it! :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks great on you......go for it!
ReplyDeleteCan always grow them out.
Love the bangs! You look cute no matter what!
ReplyDeleteYES go for it..and if you decided you dont want them anymore you can always sweep it on the side? but i think u look gorgeous in them!xoxo
ReplyDeletebtw glad you found my blog..just became ur new follower!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha this is a hot topic! I'm glad you decided to get them...I've had mine for over a year now and I can't imagine going back! Mine are thicker and a litttle shorter but they only start bugging me if they get too long. Yay for bangs!
ReplyDeleteThey look GREAT on you!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same - I had the long side-swept bands and loved them on myself but hated the hassle of having them...I could never style them how I wanted and they always got in my eyes. One day, I'll try them again!
I think the bangs look great on you! I had the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago before a hair appointment! I decided not to get bangs! I always regret getting them, so I completely understand your frustrations with them!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I think they're great!
ReplyDeleteI, unfortunately, don't wear bangs well but I think you look beautiful with them! I think just a tad shorter will definitely keep them out of your eyes :)
girl, i've always thought about getting them too!
ReplyDeleteso... i vote you get them so i can live vicariously through you.
xoxo
Yup go for it! Love them!
ReplyDeleteI've had bangs my WHOLE LIFE> as in you won't find one single picture of me without em! Bangs aren't that bad, you just have to maintain them more than the rest of your hair. This means after 3 wks they need a trim and texturize stat! :) you def have the face for it so I'd keep giving them a whirl! :)
ReplyDeleteDo it! Maybe a little shorter and a little blunter for a chic Heidi Klum look. I posted about my hair today, too. I think springtime calls for new hair! ;-)
ReplyDeletegive bangs another try!! they are so cute!

ReplyDeleteNew Follower! And I definitely vote yes for the bangs. They look amazing on you and are totally in style right now! PS- love your wedding dress, it is beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteAhh, you should get them! They look so cute, Liz! And, as you said, if you aren't feeling them, just grow them out again. :)
ReplyDeletei say yes! bangs look great on you!
ReplyDeleteI always have bangs! Even if I dont have them fully in the front, I will wear side bangs :)
ReplyDeleteYes do the bangs! Going thicker was the key for me. I hated mine the first time but when I went back I asked for thick full bangs and now I love them!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think the bangs are adorable on you!
ReplyDeletei love bangs ! i just cut mine, and i love a fresh new look ! i say go for it !

I find strangers like to be winked at. Go for the bangs. And maybe you'll make some new friends too :)
ReplyDeleteYou looked lovely with bangs, and I think you ought to give them another shot! Bangs are so much fun!
ReplyDeletePlus, they grow out relatively fast. Once they're right in your eyes, you can start side-sweeping them or something, or pinning them back.
GET THEM. You look SO good with bangs...like that top picture is amazing. You should absolutely do it. They are ADORABLE ON YOU!!! So chic and trendy and the-opposite-of-ordinary. I can't wait to see the new pics.
ReplyDeletei'm having this same debate! looove the shorter ones you have pictured here, i say go for it! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in bangs! I say if you are in the mood, why not!
ReplyDeleteyou do look super cute with bangs. I've always wanted to be able to pull them off too! So yes, do it for all of us that can't pull them off;)
ReplyDeletexo, Happy Friday

You can rock the bangs! Super cute. When I had bangs, it was the best of times and it was the worst of times. Too many bad bangs days for me outweighed the good, and I ended up having to grow them out. But, they look really good on you, and if you're ready for a change, do it!
ReplyDeleteYou have the perfect face for them. Can't wait to see pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat girls has not struggled with this question??? In my experience once I've got the idea in my head there's no shaking it until I do it. In your case it's a win-win 'cause they look great on you. You're picture looks like one I would save and take to my hair-dresser!!
ReplyDeletethick bangs solve the problem of parting on their own. also, you might try the side swept thing -- if you have them cut very full, you can wear them straight across or swept to the side on a day-by-day basis. i like my bangs to touch my eyebrows, that way they're not too short and they don't sneak in between my face and my glasses.
ReplyDeletealso, it's very very easy to trim your bangs yourself! ask your stylist to teach you. and if you mess it up, your stylist will probably let you come in for the two minutes it takes to trim a person's bangs every few weeks. no big deal.
you should give it another go. a month is long enough to decide whether they're a yes or no, but you honestly look great with or without so don't fret too much!
i think I like your bangs side swept better but getting bangs is fun! unfortunately i think my fiancee would break our engagement off if I got bangs (a slight joke ;) ), he hatttes bangs! i love them!
ReplyDeletedo it liz!!! you would be the cutest.
ReplyDeleteGo for the bangs! I'm actually trying to grow mine out right now because the husband asked me to, but I'm itching to cut them already.
ReplyDeleteI say no. Why not try something a little different and cut some long layers that frame your face...
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower!!! (Saw your blog on Running from the law)
ReplyDeleteWatch this video from Mimi of Luxy Hair Extensions. Not only does she have the most gorgeous hair & bangs, but she shows you how to style them in 5 different ways!! They look so great on her they make ME want to get bangs!!

I am ALL about bangs, they are AWESOME. And if you have the face for them (and you do) they add a ton of drama. Do it!
ReplyDeletebangs are always cute..but i got them in november & have been waiting for the day that they are fully grown out. & i am not a fan of having bangs in the summer for myself..but you can pull it off:)
ReplyDeletego for it!! you wear them soooo well!! gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteBangs are so hot on you!! Try the thicker heavy look.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll look really good!!
