This would be a nice, healthy and beautiful alternative to my usual workday breakfast of greek yogurt with honey (if I even get past my coffee).
Pick a bread that is high in fiber and has lots of grain {1 slice high brand 8health bread has 70 calories and 7gr of fiber}, add 1 tbsp of peanut butter {1 tbsp has 85 calories and 1gr fiber} and some delicious and fresh strawberries {1 cup is 45 calories and has 3gr of fiber}. And voila, you have a tempting, spring looking snack with only 200 calories and full of nutrients!!

That is a fabulous idea. I have never seen that concoction before. (PS. you just described my morning breakfast: Greek Yogurt with honey and coffee!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting my snack for today... :)
ReplyDeleteI have this for breakfast sometimes actually.. but instead of strawberries, I use a banana. I'm going to try strawberries next time though. =)
ReplyDeleteYum! I should try the strawberries, but I usually have Dave's Killer bread with local honey, almond butter and bananas! I use local honey for many reasons but one being because it is supposed to help with allergies that are so common here in Portland.
ReplyDeleteThis looks yummy! Although I prefer bananas with my peanut butter ;)
ReplyDeletemmm, looks delicious! food is always more fun to eat when it looks pretty too.

ReplyDeleteyummy. im surprised i haven't thought to put strawberries with peanut butter before! seems so obvious. with that much fiber this would have to be a nice filling breakfast!
ReplyDeletei love a good PB + Strawberry + Banana sandwich for lunch, so the breakfast toast has my name written all over it! yummm

ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious! Another good breakfast that I have found myself addicted to lately is a whole wheat English Muffin with peanut-butter, a teaspoon of nutella and granny smith apples.
