I can't believe it's finally here! Tomorrow we are off to Greece.
Santorini is one of my ultimate dream destinations.
We splurged on our hotel and plan on doing nothing but lounging on our private terrace, cocktail in hand, staring out at the caldera. all.day.long.
If you happen to have any Santorini restaurant recommendations send them on over.
And if you have recommendations for things to do on the island, send those, too. Although I can't guarantee we'll do much more than relax by the pool!
I'll be back in a week. I'll be semi-unplugged, probably tweeting and posting the occasional Instagram here and there.

My family is from here! Make sure you eat a souvlaki at Luckys in Fira for a cheap lunch!! Youre going to love the island!

ReplyDeleteSantorini is up there with the most beautiful places i have ever been. Im so excited for you going there! My recommendation would be to hire some quads (or maybe just share one and snuggle up) and then drive them around the entire island - it would fill a full day if you stop off places. You can visit the village of Oia for lunch and check out the shops, museums and churches. It's so simple, you can't get lost. You just follow the water everywhere. Its a beautiful way to see the Santorini. Enjoy! x
ReplyDeleteGo to Oia to see the blue domes all over! Watch out for the donkeys on the way up to Thira or take the tram up or run up the same way as the donkeys (not recommended but a group of students did that and came thru fine - I was just there in April traveling with students from my school). It was the best experience ever!
ReplyDeleteSee the sunset in Oia (big crowds, go early for a good spot to sit). Go to the volcano (of course!) but be wary of which company you chose - we overpaid and our boat was late, so we only spent 30 minutes on the volcano, and the boat was also waaay over capacity and quite uncomfortable. And yes, like Louise mentioned, explore the whole island! Easy to do in a day.

When we arrived in Oia with that view (kinda like the one above) I literally started weeping because it was so beautiful.
