Hi There! Sorry for the absence this week. My work schedule has been a little weird
and last night I met up with some friends in honor of halloween.
Also, apparently the hard drive on my computer is full, so I haven't been able to
upload photos from my trip home or this past weekend. So, that leaves me with less posting material.
But then I thought, it's actually been an exciting week!
Apparently I'm ready for Christmas because this week I've ordered our Christmas cards, ordered a custom stamp to make addressing those puppies easier (and cuter!), andddd the most exciting of all...
We booked a gorgeous Swiss chalet for the week of Christmas!
Since I was just home in August and October, it seemed silly to go back again for the holidays.
(We were going to go on this trip, but it turned out to be a logistical nightmare)
We are going to miss our family like crazy, so to make ourselves feel better we decided we would stay here to celebrate our very first Christmas all on our own:
Now all I can think about is being in this gorgeous chalet with Corey.
Sitting by the fire reading books, listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate, cooking comfort food, and staring out at the gorgeous view we have of the Swiss Alps. Pinch me!
And of course, I'll need some cute and cozy new things to fit in with our pretty chalet, right? I'm ready to press purchase on these pieces from ASOS (if only I hadn't spent all my money on the rental...)!

Wow what a beautiful place!!! You two are definitely making the most of a Christmas away from family! It sounds like it will be romantic, relaxing and fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to spend the holidays. I've always wanted to spend Christmas in a log cabin somewhere that was covered in snow. Can't wait to hear about it, happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteThis place looks SO gorgeous. Whereabouts in Switzerland is it? Coincidentally I was looking up holiday homes in Switzerland not half an hour ago! Longing to see some hills again after a long while in the Netherlands ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's in a tiny alp town just outside of Monthey - I can't even pronounce the name :)
DeleteOk, I need to know the name of this GORGEOUS place!! We're going to Zermatt for skiing in January, but my gosh...we're not staying in anything as fabulous as that!! Color me jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteWe're paying a pretty penny, but it will be worth it! Email me if you want more info - or just look out for a post after the holidays!
DeleteWow this looks like a fairy tale Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds like the ideal way to spend a holiday if you can't be with extended family. Beautiful!! And you should definitely splurge on the hat!
ReplyDeleteAh, I know! I feel like I NEED the hat.. I mean, how perfect is it for Christmas in the Alps?!
DeleteSigh. That looks BEAUTIFUL. You are giving me the travel bug, again.
ReplyDeleteCome along! We have two extra bedrooms :) hehe
DeleteThat place looks so peaceful and gorgeous! Switzerland, you say? I may need to get the info from you! My husband and I want to travel some place when he gets back from his deployment in January!
ReplyDeleteYes, Switzerland! A tiny little town, but you can take day trips to a lot of fun places :) It's definitely not a budget accommodation! Email me if you want more info! I'll definitely be posting more about it when we return from our trip, too.
DeleteOh my gosh Liz, this is just magical looking! Y'all will have a blast and I can't wait to see the photos you will take :)
ReplyDeleteTHIS is what Christmas dreams are made of! Your own swiss chalet?! Unreal!:-) And please tell me you're gonna get that fur hat! It's a must! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect place to spend a cozy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh. that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou are on the ball!! Where did you get your stamp from? I have been wanting one to make my cards cuter (and prevent the ever dreadful hand cramp!)
ReplyDeleteyay i am SO glad you officially booked it! I am also so happy you chose this route...while the other trip seemed AMAZING..i think you will find you enjoy doing the holidays this way SO much more..Ive traveled twice in december to different places, and to be honest, i think i would have enjoyed just lounging in a beautiful place, and put my money towards a really nice house in a beautiful location and just planted myself there instead of hopping from country to country, city to city. you wont regret it.
ReplyDeleteOMG how exciting!!!!!! That place is absolute perfection! ENJOY!!!
ReplyDeleteYour chalet is amazing & I wish you have a great time during Christmas...& good luck on your ASOS purchases...
